This exercise relates to the present subjunctive and when it is used, which is dealt with in Unit 17, pp. 247-50.

Put the verb in brackets into the appropriate form: present indicative or present subjunctive.

Vocabulary notes:
idraulico = plumber tirocinio = apprenticeship, on the job training.

1. Mario: Mia figlia dice che (volere) fare l'idraulico.

2. Pensi che una donna (potere) fare un lavoro di questo genere?

3. Andrea: Certo. Io credo che una donna ne (essere) capace.

4. Occorre naturalmente che (avere) una buona preparazione tecnica.

5. Il problema sarà forse la reazione del cliente, che aspetta un uomo. Ma dato che mancano gli idraulici, le sue prospettive (essere) ottime.

6. Se (essere) brava, avrà molto lavoro.

7. Direi che bisogna anche che (sapere) gestire una ditta.

8. Allora, dopo il tirocinio, potrebbe lavorare per conto suo. Gli idraulici (guadagnare) bene.
