Centre for Longitudinal Studies
The CLS is an ESRC Resource Centre, based at the Institute of Education, University of London. CLS houses three of Britain's birth cohort studies: 1958 National Child Development Study, 1970 British cohort Study and the Millennium Cohort Study.

The Centre is the home of MLwiN where further details of the software, newsletters and training events can be obtained.

The Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS)
The Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) is a UK national data service providing access and support for an extensive range of key economic and social data, both quantitative and qualitative. As well as providing descriptions of major datasets and support on the secondary use of them, the ESDS website contains guides on Stata, SPSS and on weighting data. The site also provides details of training datasets especially created as a resource to students and lecturers.

Training Resources and Materials for Social Scientists (TRAMSS)
This site provides details of MLwiN and SABRE. A trial version of MLwiN can be downloaded together with Version 1 of the manual and a tutorial dataset. SABRE is freeware software and can be downloaded.

As the name implies the Data Archive is the main repository of major UK datasets.
