This is a really useful website for getting the low-down on the major law firms, and, what’s more, it has a dedicated student page.

Roll on Friday (www.rollonfriday.com)

Roll on Friday offers a more informal guide to what the different firms are like to work for, which is useful when trying to work out which firms to apply to.

Legal Week (www.legalweek.com)

Legal Week is a dedicated commercial law magazine, which is certainly worth adding to your Favourites if you are interested in keeping up-to-date with this area of the law.

CV Mail UK (www.cvmailuk.com)

This is a useful central application tool, but note that it is just as easy to apply to each law firm individually.

The Law Society: Junior Lawyers (juniorlawyers.lawsociety.org.uk)

See the Junior Lawyers section of the website of the Law Society of England and Wales for information (including useful FAQs) on careers in law.

The Law Society: Law firms (www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor.law)

You can search the Law Society's database of law firms in such a way as to show those firms authorised to take trainees, by selecting the "training contract" checkbox under "More Search Options" here.

Legal Recruitment Blog (www.legalrecruitment.blogspot.com)

This is a reasonable and frequently updated blog on general recruitment-related issues in the legal sector.

This site lists the various different law blogs in existence, and is a good starting point for those interested in legal blogs.
