CHARTS AND DIAGRAMS

Charts, diagrams, posters are all visual ways of learning and remembering things. When you turn facts and concepts into something visual, you are actively doing something. So this is an example of learning by doing and seeing. You have also used colour – a different one for each concept, and you have enhanced it visually by enlarging the mathematical symbols.

Here is a colourful poster to help you remember the various mathematical terms that either mean the same thing or are closely related.

Below is a diagram to help you remember how to calculate the length of the circumference of a circle using the radius of a circle.

Diagram of circle with formula for calculating the radius

C is the circumference

r is the radius so 2r is the diameter

(pi) is the constant

( is a greek letter – many greek letters are used in maths and science.)
