New Museum:

For over thirty years, the New Museum has committed itself to contemporary art practices that expand our understanding of the time in which we live. Sharing this work with the public through exhibitions, public programs, publications, and various educational resources remains a vital part of the Museum’s mission. Through Rethinking Contemporary Art and Multicultural Education, the New Museum looks to support teachers and students of all ages to advance the role of contemporary art and ideas in the classroom and beyond.

Global Classroom (G:Class) is an interdisciplinary education initiative that utilizes the New Museum as a resource to enhance learning. Based on a philosophy rooted in inquiry and visual analysis, G:Class engages students and teachers to become critical thinkers and innovative investigators through contemporary art. G:Class activities include seminars for students and teachers conducted by exhibiting artists, New Museum staff, and art professionals; partnerships with local high schools; and a website that chronicles New Museum exhibitions, seminars, partnerships, and lessons.
